Dear Delegates,

The FPOABC executive has been discussing the COVID-19 situation at length during the past several weeks, and has come to the decision to cancel the 2020 Conference in Penticton.  We feel that this is in the best interest of our members and the public we serve.  We have signed a contract with the Penticton Lakeside Conference Centre for 2021.  The new dates are April 19 – 22, 2021 with the Pre-Conference April 16, 17, 18.  It is our intention that the pre-conference and the schedule remains the same.

All individual guestroom bookings will need to be cancelled individually at least seven (7) days prior to arrival in order to  avoid cancellation fees. Room rates are based on single/double occupancy, are net, non-commissionable and subject to applicable taxes.

Parking is $10.00 per vehicle, per day, for in-house guests

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Fire Prevention Officers’ Association of BC will not be publishing the FireAway Magazine in 2020.

All cancellations and requests for refunds MUST be submitted in writing.  Telephone requests WILL NOT be honored.

  • Refund requests postmarked or emailed more than 60 days, - will receive a full refund (less an administrative fee of $35.00)
  • Refund requests postmarked or emailed less than 60 days, but prior to 30 days from the start of the Conference - will receive a 75% refund (less an administrative fee of $35.00)
  • Refund requests postmarked or emailed less than 30 days, but prior to 14 days from the start of the Conference - will receive a 50% refund (less an administrative fee of $35.00)
  • Request for refunds received after this deadline may not be considered

Refunds will be sent within four to six weeks after the Conference has concluded
