We have an opening for the full-time position of FireSmart Coordinator. This position is
grant funded for approximately two years. The successful candidate will have completed
FireSmart 101, Wildfire Risk Reduction course, hold a diploma in a related field, and
possess a valid BC driver’s license. Additionally, the candidate will have three years of
experience working with wildfire mitigation, planning, suppression or recovery.
You have expert knowledge of fire prevention, FireSmart and emergency preparedness
programs, as well as the ability to effectively deliver educational and outreach materials
to a variety of audiences. You have a demonstrated ability to work as an effective advisor,
mediator and facilitator and will be the main point of contact for the FireSmart program.
Reporting to Manager, Emergency Planning, the FireSmart Coordinator is responsible for
the development, facilitation, coordination and implementation of FireSmart related
activities. The position ensures that FireSmart activities are supported, developed and
implemented in accordance with Provincial guidelines and RDNO policy.

(35 hours/week) with a wage range of $38.15 to $43.82 per hour, depending upon experience and
